Bedroom Interior Design Tips

Bedroom Interior Design TipsBedroom Interior Design Tips

As well all know the bedroom should be one of the most relaxing areas in our homes and those whose bedrooms feel disordered may find it difficult to sleep. In fact when redesigning your bedroom it should be a place of peace and relaxation and the ideas provided below for your bedroom interior decorating design should help you to achieve this.

In fact the biggest problem you have may when looking at bedroom interior decorating ideas is not that you can not find any ideas but narrowing down to the ones you want from a list you would like to use.

Today there are bedroom decorating ideas everywhere you can find inspiration in a magazine, on TV, through a display in a store or catalogs or from the internet. So if you are looking for a relaxed feeling to your room then avoid bright reds and yellows instead go for either a deep maroon or pale yellow instead. The whole idea is to make the room relaxing to your eye and not energizing or bright.

Another bedroom interior decorating idea you may want to consider is to use wall paper rather than paint. The bedroom is the one place where you can be truly yourself. You can rest, relax and remove the daily mask without worry that anyone can see your true self. This stress needs somehow to be eliminated from our system and one of the best places to do that is the bedroom.
This room should be always a calm and inviting place which is clean and peaceful looking. If your bedroom is rather small, you can safely go with grey, beige, pastel, all colors and shades that are muted and natural looking. They offer your room a more subtle look that suits any small place perfectly.

You can get it very crowded pretty soon if you choose too big and many pieces of furniture based on the room size. Avoid having huge dressing tables, huge wooden wardrobes and kind size beds and go instead for queen size beds with no headboard. The main idea is to have the furniture fit the size of your space perfectly without looking out of place.

Another way to make a smaller bedroom seem bigger is by using a wall bed. Also many times people prefer custom made furniture than buying ready made ones as they can be sized to fit exactly the size you need and nothing larger. If you plan everything carefully you can get the desk, bed and shelves all sized up to exactly what you need and in the materials you need.

Modern Contemporary White Interior Design

Modern Contemporary White Interior DesignModern Contemporary White Interior Design

You will never encounter clutter in contemporary home decor. Contemporary home decor is known for its clean lines and sleek sophistication. Common groundwork for contemporary interior design is bare windows and high ceilings. Contemporary interior design can be identified by a few key trademarks. In regard to contemporary furnishings, interior decorators usually opt for highly textured fabrics such as wool, linen and jute. Contemporary home decor often includes tile, vinyl or wood floors. When selecting contemporary artwork for your space, it is imperative to select a piece that you personally find appealing. Some interior decorators also suggest composing one large collection of smaller individual pieces.

Classic colors in contemporary design are black, white and beige. It is not uncommon to accent these colors with a bold color. There's plenty to love about using white for interior design. White isn't simply an absence of colour. White creates an image of elegance, brightness and expansiveness. White is definitely far from boring, but it does involve a number of interior design techniques in order to fuse in a modern contemporary look. There are actually many different tones of white and the colours that would match these white tones would be remarkably different. For instance, blue-tinted white will look jarring against a red sofa. To incorporate warmth in your interior design, opt for whites that have hints of yellow, like ivory, beige and cream. Cool hues look best with brighter whites.

Having white as the theme for your furniture is extremely trendy, as you can see from flipping through interior design magazines. White furniture against white background will give you the sensation of a very modern contemporary empty room, making the room appear bigger than it really is.

White is also very versatile. Go natural. From lacy white curtains on the windows, to fluffy white cushions on the sofa and furry white rugs to rest your feet - isn't that the kind of interior design that makes you feel like spending lazy weekends at home?

All I Can Hear Is Crashing Waves In My Ear

I've decided that for a little while I'm changing my blog background.  It's all in the blog title.  You see I'm an Oregonian and you just can't take the Oregon out of a women like me.  Yes, I've almost lived in Utah for 14 years.  Oh, that wasn't the plan, but you know how your life's journey doesn't always turn out like you've planned.  The last several years we've vacation on the Oregon coast.  Last year we had a beautiful ocean view house and I went to sleep every night with the sounds of the crashing waves on to the seashore.  I also loved seeing the joy in my son's eyes as he insists on playing in the ocean everyday and it doesn't matter how cold the water was.

This year there is no vacation, but a dream coming true.  A lot of hard work.  What I hear most now is sanding, nailing, washing out paint brushes, and more. A few sleepless nights.  Working 24/7 even though I take 2 days off from the shop but there is always more to do.  Tonight I wish I was sleeping with window open to the smell of fresh sea air.  Tomorrow is a new day and you'll find me at Tattered Butterfly working on my dream to be who God created me to be, but that doesn't stop the dreaming of the gorgeous Oregon coast and on my blog!

Shop Life...., Utah Valley Parade of Homes,

I had a great week at the shop. I love getting to know my customers. I've been working on items for outdoor living. It has been fun seeing vintage patio furniture come to life! My favorite colors right now our a beautiful lime green and a light Tiffany blue. Customers like those colors too.

I have advertised in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes. It's been good to network with the builders and designers. I've have seen about 9 homes and the Tiffany blue is in so "in". My favorite house so far is a home by Architectal Galleries. It was an old rambler that they renovated and paired modern design with rustic metal details. The house is amazing as well as the view. It's a cutting edge home that I would find in Portland, Oregon. It is amazing to see other creative people do what the love and see that if you're your athentic self people are drawn to what you do.
