Junk Party Wahoo!

Thank you so much Kennasha for hosting. I had a great time dreaming up what I would post.
My planter/candle holder was fun to make even though a thunderstom moved over me, but true junker won't stop if the creative juices are flowing, even if it is a bit crazy. I didn't have anything handy to keep my plants in tight so I used an old table cloth that had stains that I was able to get free at an Estate sale on Saturday. The planter and wire bowl came from a local thrift store on Friday.
My vintage patio set came from another estate sale. I love the curved chairs. The seats were in bad shape! I do love the fabric I choose. It's the perfect pattern to have breakfast with every morning. I've so enjoyed to seeing what other "junkers" are doing. We sure are a creative bunch of gals!!
Yes, I'm a little late getting my junk sticker up! I'm so new to blog life that it takes me a little longer figure out how to add things to my blog.... LOL! It's still under midnight here in SLC so here goes......

Inside Out Birdhouse

This bird house was bought about 8 years ago for my family room. I've since changed my decor. So I've had it in my garage for a while. I decided making it a planter for my deck would be a good way to re-purpose this bird house. I put several coats of polyurethane inside and out. I drilled holes in the base of the bird house and the drawers. I added a few succulents and this bird house that I was going to give to Good Will has a new life. Re-purposing an item that was meant for inside my house is now a great outside planter.

This little find was one of the last garage sales I went to after a long hot morning. You just never know what you will find. I love the rust! I'm a sucker for rust! I drilled holes in the bottom so the plants could drain properly. I put succulents plants and Hen's and Chicks in the bottom. These plants don't need to be watered much. The two grills plates I placed tea lights on them. This is a great addition for my deck area.

Lost In Life

It has been a while since I've posted. Spring is gone and here I'm facing summer. Oh, how I love summer. My garden is my favorite place to be. Over the last few months we've redone our kitchen. I was the designer and my husband was the carpenter, tiler, painter, etc... It looks great. I can't thank my sweet husband enough for his patience and attention to detail! I will post pictures soon.

Sometimes I get lost in life. Being a wife and mom is what I love. I enjoy my life. It is slower paced and much quieter. Having "Fibro" is a gift. That not to say going up a few dress sizes, sore muscles, and sheer exhaustion has it's frustrating moments. It has taught me that living my life is what is important. My old self was about doing, going, striving. Now it is about being PRESENT in my life. Living Joy is about the simple things in life. It's Saturday's morning breakfast with all the fixin's. Ice tea on hot summer day. Reading a good book in my garden. Playing board games with my family. Hanging out with my parents. Seeing my parents dote on my son. Seeing my husband's smile. And of course creating things from vintage and junk items..... I like to call it Vintage Chic! I'll posting pictures of my creations.........soon.
